Installer won't recognize any .msi packages???
I am having a Windows XP desktop since long time but recently started having a problem MSI packages on the same. Whenever I try to install .msi package, it gives me an error message stating:
?The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.?
I am sure the problem is not with the package because the error appears with all .msi and all these are working fine on other computers. I thought the problem would be with Microsoft Installer hence tried unregistering and registering as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the Installer from Microsoft but yet no success. Even Safe Mode is not able to complete the installation.
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Installer won't recognize any .msi packages???
Still i think the problem is with Windows installer itself. You should try updating the same to the mist recent version. You can get the latest version of Windows Installer here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
