Cannot mute Microphone through recorder control

I am facing issue with Microphone mute button here. When the recording starts, it does not un-mute on its own. It is a bit annoying problem here. The playback control does not work under any circumstances. While when I use a third party software it works really well and there is no problem with the configuration here. The recording controls are simply annoying.

Could be a problem with the recorder software. Instead of using the default one it is recommended that you use some third party or better software. I am sure that will be far more helpful for you. There is no way to re-install the existing sound recorder which comes pre-installed in Windows XP. There are tons of audio recorder software available with advance features to guide you on proper sound output.
