Is it possible to increase the number of entries in "My Recent Documents"?
I tried to find the answer on the web and in the archive of this group,

You can download and run the registry file available from this web site to
change it to 25.

If you want to change the number to something other than 25, you'll have to edit
the registry. Take a look at this web site for more info.

Splendid, thank you - I suppose 25 should do nicely.

Thanks for the link.
However, I'm not quite sure how to interpret this statement:
"Even if you set it really high, windows will still set other limits on
how many documents are shown here" :-\

I believe that statement means that there's a limit to how large the list can
get. For example, if you were to set the value in that registry key to a very
large number, say in the thousands, Windows will not list that many documents.
I don't know exactly what the upper limit is because I've never had the need for
it to be any greater than the default 15. I prefer to rely on the recent
documents list within applications such as Word, Excel, and Acrobat Reader to
keep track of that info.

Thanks for your further reply.
I only just realised/remembered that the Recent Documents doesn't
'survive' a reboot.
Is it possible to make it 'non-volatile'?

Do you have TweakUI or a similar program installed on your computer? TweakUI has
a setting in the Explorer branch to clear document history on exit.
If that's not the case, you can run the registry fix available by clicking Undo
on this web site.

Splendid - yes, I do have TweakUI installed.
Thanks for pointing out this option.
