When trying to open Scanner and Camera Wizard: "wiaacmgr.exe badimage" box appears

The full error message is "The application or DLL C:\windows
\system32\COMres.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this
against your installation diskette."

What is the problem here?

How do I check it against the installation diskette?

Thanks,

Lew

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker
(Sfc.exe)

Your case may have you using:
sfc /scannow

You should have your Windows XP w/ SP2 integrated media.
