avg on will not scan messenger 8 files

Hi,

I'm using Windows XP with AVG antivirus.Earlier it is use to scan my messenger 8 files but now it is not scanning them any more.

The line i'm using in file transfer is.
"C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\avgw.exe" /SE %1

Can any one help me please?

Is it some thing to do with the firewall? as its been allowed in there.
