    unknown devices (pci device)

I need some help with unknown devices on my pc. I went in device manager and found a series of unknown devices. I am not able to figure out how suddenly all this devices appeared. I am trying to install a new graphic card on my pc. I am having a driver cd with me. I thought the pci card will be updated through the drivers that are in the cd, but that does not looks to be working fine. Is there a tool available that can offer me information on unknown devices in the system.

Looks like some pending hardware. Try to update your chipset drivers. It happens a number of time that due to old or outdated chipset drivers a number of hardware remains pending for installation. Just update the same and you will be able to find what are those pending stuff. You can run a complete driver updates also to get rid of the same. If there is no issue in your pc then you can simply ignore the drivers.

Those can be raid controllers or some pending hardware that you will never use. I am also having the same kind of issue. I just verified that my audio and video stuff is working fine. There is no issue with the same. It is essential that your audio, video and lan must work properly. Other things can be ignored. Updating chipset drivers can help you to some extent only.

Check your motherboard specification. You can get more information in that about the controllers and additional stuff used on the motherboard. You can visit the official website of your motherboard seller and get fresh drivers. Install the same and then check back. I am sure that will be enough helpful for you to fix the issue. Or else it is correct as mentioned above. You can ignore those things unless other stuff are working fine.

There are some automated driver update software that can help you more in dealing with the issue you are facing. You can first try remove those hardware and then reboot your pc to re-install them back. Insert your motherboard disc and use the manual way of installing drivers. The setup wizard will automatically search for the drivers from the motherboard disc and install the same.
