Microsoft .NET Framework in Add or Remove Programs

After when I went into the Add or Remove Programs, then I saw the below things:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework (English)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Hotfix (KB928367)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB928366)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0
Will it be possible to remove all this things without any issues? Thanks.

You should not try to remove any of the Framework installed in your system. Incase a web is using it then you will have issues in the future.

Re: Microsoft .NET Framework in Add or Remove Programs

You can try to remove it but you shouldnt. The reason is, if you remove any of those then you will find that some programs will fail to launch. Normally, a software that needs a particular version will fail it tha version is not available. Also, these take some amount of disk space in your pc, so there is nothing to be worried about it.

Even I am facing the same issues, will I be able to remove Net Framework Service Packs without affecting the underlying Framework installation? The latest that I am using is 3.5 version. Thanks.

Re: Microsoft .NET Framework in Add or Remove Programs

Hello, I am new to this community and not sure if this is the proper place to post my question. It says to "Reply to the newsgroup". I don't know how to do that.

Also, this is an old thread. Please redirect me if necessary.

Anyway, I see the same entries in Add/Remove programs as stated before. There is a comment from Ken Blake that they take up a tiny amount of disk space, yet the entry I have for "Microsoft .NET Framework (English) v 1.0.3705" says it's taking up 1.737 GB. I'd like to remove this, but I'm also very much aware of the need for leaving multiple .NET versions.

Why would this entry be taking up so much space?

Thanks.
