Gears of War (PC) Crash

I have a Alienware Athlon system running with Windows XP SP2, with all updated drivers and latest Pacthes from Windows Updates. I want to play Gears of War on this system. Let me tell you that the system configuration is bit higher than what is required for the game to comfortably. But still when I try to launch the game, it crashes with the following error in Event Viewer log:

Can anyone please tell me what is yet wrong? Why the game is crashing? Any possible fix for the same? Thank you.

As far as i know apart from system requirements Gears of War also needs Microsoft Games for Windows Live - Redistributable and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable to be installed on your system. Do you have these both on your system? If not install the same and try again. It should work fine.

If still getting the error message then Download and re-install Games for Windows Live. Note this will NOT kill your save game and is from Microsoft themselves.http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...02.0241.00.msi

. I had the same problem and managed to fix with this patched. If that dint work for then go to Start > RUN > type 'msconfig' and disable all unwanted startup programs. Restart the system and run the game. it will not give any problem.
