I just connected a new hard drive in and reinstalled Windows SP and for some reason if I am trying to go into the control panel then the computer crashes with the blue screen. This is the only problem I am facing with my computer. I cannot see a Windows page after restarting suggesting a solution? I have got a HP laptop. Thanks for any help.

You will have to disable automatic restart on system failure. It will give you some more time to write down the Stop code properly. Just right click on My Computer icon on the Desktop and then select Properies > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > System Failure and then uncheck box before automatically restart. Dont re-enable automatic restart on system failure even after the problem is solved.

Press the F8 key on the keyboard at the time of starting the computer and boot with an option called Last Good configuration. You can also try to disable Automatic restart on system failure to capture the error message. You can also use Safe Mode option to log into it and then troubleshoot from there by accessing the Event Viewer and check the log for error messages and you can copy and paste in your next post, see the below article:

Re: blue screen crash while attempting to go in control panel

The error that you are getting seems to be occuring due to bad hardware driver on your computer.

Incase you have a video cards then try to get the latest driver for it, either from Nvidia website or Amd website.

You may receive an error message on a Windows-based computer: "STOP 0x00000050" or "STOP 0x0000008e"

It looks to me that you have Spyware Doctor installed in your machine, so try to uninstall it and then check the difference.
