| Setup cannot find any hard disk drives
I can run the repair install up to this point only and then have to F3. How do I find the diagnostic tools to "find" . Also cannot run windows update and have tried most if not all of the tips given on here. Also windows installer comes up on reboot and hangs. I think that has something to do with the updater but not sure. I have Window Install cleanup but hasn't helped. |

The floppie is named IT8212 Atapi. I once mislaid mine and could not get the computer to see the PATA drives - it took quite a spell to use another computer and find the solution. IN http://members.ii.net/~borge/IT8212/ you will find 3 folders with info in all of them. Copy those exactly as they are to a floppie and use that when you reinstall windows. Don't forget to get the capitalisation right or you will get nothing. Borge in sunny Perth, Australia |

How you find this out depends on the BIOS. Cheers, Cliff -- Have you ever noticed that if something is advertised as 'amusing' or 'hilarious', it usually isn't? |

Thanks Jim I did get it to allow the "upgrade" option so that fixed some of my problems. Can now download updates again. Now if I can just get rid of installer on start up. Thanks again for help. When I get floppy drive working I will look into getting that disk.
