Re: Printer Warning in event viewer

The event id 20 means that a printer driver was installed or updated, it is just an informational message only and there is no action required to be done for same.

    ..but!

If you really look at this "Problem" Microsoft SHOULD do something about it. Not only is it downloading the drivers every time you print. It also consumes needless bandwidth to do so. Why install a printer if you have to retrieve the drivers from the server EVERY time you do anything. I.E. if you look at Printer Properties, you again are retrieving the driver off of the server...lame! since the printer is already installed. I say, "Disabling the printer notification" is a joke, the bandwidth consumption will not go away and you will still have the absurd delay when trying to get to the printing preferences.
My advice, DO NOT BACK DOWN. THIS IS A PROBLEM! if you setup the network printer as a local tcp/ip printer this problem will go away. As far as administration is concerned this is not an option for large Domains, etc.
p.s. network utilization peaks at 50% on occasion when opening printer properties. ummm, ok!
