Missing change/remove icon in add/remove programs

I am missing the change/remove icon for most programs under the add/remove
programs menu. Some do show but most others don't. Is there a solution or
fix for this problems.

Reinstalling the app usually restores a lost change/repair button.

Hi Mike,

Do you see a particular pattern (example: The "Change/Remove" buttons are not available only for applications installed using Windows Installer. Or the Change/Remove button appears for first n number of entries and then disappears for the remaining ones?)

IIRC, the problem is caused by one of the applications that uses Windows Installer.

Hi,

This problem only appeared after I installed McAfee. Should I reinstall it?

See if removing the "McAfee" related entry under the "Uninstall" registry key helps you get back the Change/Remove button for other programs. Be sure to backup the key first.
