| Dazzle DVC 170 is not recognized by Movie Maker
I have been using a Dazzle DVC 170 to capture video from my VCR to archive old video. I have been using the Pinnacle Software that came with it, which is terrible, too many issues to place here. I would like to use WMM to capture with it, but it is not recognizing it. I am running Windows XP SP2. I have seen other posts around the net that have people saying they used pervious versions of Dazzle capture devices with WMM, so I assume that this should work fine as well. It connects via USB (may be the problem, as WMM seems to like Firewire and S-video). Any help would be great. |

Dazzle units with numbers lower than 100 work OK with Movie Maker, but those with numbers higher than 100 are models that capture video as MPEG files, and don't typically work with Movie Maker. My Dazzle 80 works... see my website Analog Video Capture > Dazzle page for more comments -- website references are to www.papajohn.org PapaJohn "Ben" <Ben@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:35D929ED-D1AA-413F-AB1E-670EE5D1515B@microsoft.com... >I have been using a Dazzle DVC 170 to capture video from my VCR to archive > old video.
