    Unmountable-boot-volume

I am getting this Unmountable Boot Volume problem and my screen stays blue screen forever. I have tried running chkdsk /p from recovery console, it will get aroung 30% and then it will give an error and wont finish. The stop code error that I am getting is

    STOP: 0x000000ED
    (0x82F83B98, 0xC000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) and UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.

Can anyone please tell me how to solve this issue? Thanks.

It could be a hard drive failure that is telling you to replace the drive asap, since the drive is cleary not reliable and should be replaced or else you will lose important data that you want to save.

    Recovering Data

There is an easier way to attempt recovering your data. Boot from a Knoppix live cd, available from www.knoppix.net, and then transfer all of your data to either another internal or external drive(USB preferably).....I have had very much success using this method. Good Luck!!!

    Re: UNMOUNTABLE-BOOT-VOLUME

The error gives rise to severe data loss situations. Therefore, to recover the lost data you should use an efficient and reliable third party software and go for XP data recovery download. It would efficiently recover all the lost data without losing any. It is compatible with all versions of Windows.
