| Issues when attempting to install a network printer.
When I click on add printer I am receiving the message that I don't have that privilege; however, I am the administrator for this machine. It offers to allow me to sign in as a different user (of which there are none on this machine) so I click the button for that and choose "Administrator" and no password. I then get the following errors: 1.) "The procedure entry point CMP_WaitNoPendingInstallEvents could not be located in the dynamic link library CFGMGR.dll" 2.) "Error loading printui.dll. The specified procedure could not be found." This is a network printer, I have installed the drivers locally and have been able to print from various programs but I use some specialty programs in my work which I am unable to print from and I cannot print any html files from the internet. I get a generic printer error in these instances. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. |

I'll check that and let you know. We just reconfigured this computer the end of Jan so I'm afraid it may be dual links in the registry that's causing the problem since we reinstalled xp when we reconfigured. I have more than one copy of printui. I also have cfgmgr which is for nt when I'm running xp. the cfgmgr32 file is 57.6KB but it shows it was created 11 Aug 2004 and modified 4 Aug 2004. So, it's showing it was modified before it was created. The printui file in system32 is 548KB created and modified on 4 Aug 2004. It appears I have remnants of NT on this computer. The other printui file is in i386. I have spent hours on the phone with microsoft and dell with network issues I had in late January, their solution was to reinstall windows. The os was xp but for some reason I'm showing files for nt. Obviously something odd happened when I did the reinstallation.
