Thread: user32.dll "relocated" in memory

    user32.dll "relocated" in memory

    Windows auto update supposedly updated my machine yesterday then
    told me to reboot. When I did, I received a message telling me
    that "c:/windows/system32/user32.dll" had been "relocated in
    memory" and whatever program it was associated with would no
    longer work properly.

    Everything seemed to work fine. But every time I boot up the
    machine, I got that message!

    I found a copy of user32.dll, downloaded it, then went into
    system32 and renamed the user32.dll I found there, then copied
    the downloaded file in its place. I rebooted and all was well.

    Then auto-update got me again and I repeated the process. (I've
    changed auto update to (where it should have been) to ask me
    first, but there ARE 2 updates I'm supposed to need: KB 927978
    and 925672. But if they keep on causing this problem . . .

    Some assistance (or suggestions) please?

    You might want to download and run the hotfix available from
    Microsoft after you install the updates.

    The Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start, and you
    receive an error message when you start the computer: "Illegal
    System DLL Relocation"

    Yes. Most everyone should be sure to get that fix. Problems appear with
    many programs ranging from some Adobe stuff to XXCopy.exe. MS blew it
    again, dang them!

    Thanks a bunch for solving my paroblem. I posted above under a
    different error message and didn't get the answer. I should have read
    on down further. I and about ten others send thanks.

    found the answere in one of them. Click on ok and go to this site

    Download the file to your desktop and run it. the error which is
    caused by Real Player will go away.
