    Guest Account error - ANIOApi

I am running a Windows XP Media Center Edition with 1 Admin account (used by me) and 1 Guest account for rest of the people who uses this computer. Well my account is working fine but whenever somebody tries to access the Guest account on this system it gives an error message saying:

"Fail to open service control manager".

Any idea what is meant by that? How to fix it? Thanks for all your helps.

Even i heard this error for the first time here. hence no idea what does it means and what might be causing this error. You just do one this, Click Start, Run and type eventvwr.msc, Select Application entry in the left pane, In the right-pane, look for the Error entry denoted by a Red X.

Here copy paste the log related to this error here. It will helps us to analyze the cause of the problem.

Ok, seems like i found something interesting about this error. After doing some more troubleshooting finally i came to know that a file named as "ANOI Service" was loaded with my D-Link wireless card. This service manager
opens in any administrator or limited use account, but the XP-MCE 2005 O/S gives a pop up saying failed to open in guest account mode because ANOI is not enabled for the guest account. I confirmed this with Dlink's service guys.

So now we have the cause. How to fix it? Thank you.

    Same Problem

Yes i have the same problem on my guest account and not on the other ones and i do have a D-Link product, but i figured out it was the d-link product because it had the d-link symbol when the error message poped up.

Well the best i can suggest is simply disable the guest account unless you are using Home edition on a peer to peer network.
