Symantec virus protection window turned off pop up window how to turn off ?

I need some help with turning on the security popup of Symantec Antivirus. It is not simply turning on. Before whenever there were any updates or issues in the system there was a popup on the screen. The notification appears on the right corner which is not not visible. How can I restore that back. I had also found that the antivirus is not able to detect any recent threats on my pc. I had copied a keygen which remains undetected. While the same is popped as virus on another system.

There is a different mode available on it. It is called as silent mode. When you turn it on the antivirus does not annoy with anykind of warning. It is simply nice way of turning of notification. While in the antivirus I had not found any settings which is associated with notification stuff. You cannot just disable the same. But still you can try searching inside the settings panel and see what you get. I am sure something is disabled due to which you are facing the problem.

Yes the option is available in the same. I was also facing the same kind of issue. Whenever I send email it shows me scanning stuff and when I send multiple it notification just keeps on poping up. I and attached speakers to my system which is more annoying. You can disable the same from Miscellaneous settings. Just go in the settings panel and click on Miscellaneous and then click on Norton Task Notification. That's all. You can turn it of from that place.

I am having another weird problem here. My antivirus is not scanning anything. When I right click on a usb drive or any other removable icon and choose scan the scan does not work. This was a bit weird issue but somehow I am still using the same. I am doubtful whether it will be able to detect threats in my pc or not. I am stuck with the same. I had not re-installed it because I do not have the setup.

Try to re-install the same. I am sure that will be enough to restore the settings. That will work really well. It is necessary that you must run the clean setup back again and then update it completely. If you think the antivirus is not scanning then there can be some issue with. Just perform the setup back again and then check back. When you install everything back from scratch ample of damage files are replaced and it work fine.

I got some issue with live update. From last few days it is constantly updating. It is not ending at all. I thought the bug was with internet but it works fine. I had recently downloaded some files. I had then re-installed Symantec back again from scratch. It worked. There is no issue with the updates and scanning. If you are not having the setup then you can do one thing. Run system restore. That will be more helpful. System restore just helps you to restore your old settings back and fixes ample of issues.

Is there any other security application in your pc. Just verify that. Sometime a multiple security apps in a single pc are cause of the problem. The most you can do is either disable it or remove. Windows firewall is disabled by default when you instal Norton type antivirus. So just check that it is disabled or not. You must disable the same thing and then check back. I am sure the problem will be fixed.

I got the issue on a old laptop. It was having Windows XP. The version of Norton Antivirus which I was using is NAV 2003 Pro Edition. I was not able to figure out how does the issue actually appear so instantly. So I removed Norton back from scratch and installed once again. But after installation it worked. There was no issue at all. For security alert I was getting minimum notification. There was no constant popups.

If you are getting those constant notification then it means your system is having ample of threats and the antivirus is not able to remove them. It can due to outdated virus definition. A number of time virus can hide inside the system even when the antivirus scan the pc. But it is recommended that you must simply keep on scanning. You can download a bootable antivirus scanner and scan with it under safe mode. That will be more helpful I think.
