    MP4 Player

I’m using Windows XP without any service pack installed. It has Windows Media Player 10. Now I got some files in MP4 extension which when trying to play in Windows Media Player, it gives error and wont play. Rest other files are working fine.

So I wanted a MP4 player for my PC. Can anyone here please suggest me a good one with its download link?

    Re: MP4 Player

Windows Media Player 10 is capable to play MP4 files, it just need the proper codec. BTW, you should have mentioned the error message you got from WMP. Anyways, instead of going for MP4 player, simply download K-Lite codec and install. WMP will play those files without any problem. Alternatively you can also download vista codecs package(works on XP and Vista) from http://shark007.net/vistacodecpackage.html.

The best media player for MP4 or any other Audio/Video formats i know is VLC player. Another option is the SMplayer http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/. These both players are completely free.
