    Re: Application management

To me it seems like most probably your system is infected. If you have any security suite installed, update the same and scan the entire system. Apart the from that, here are few steps you need to follow:
    • Click Start and then click Run.
    • Type this "sfc /scannow" and click OK.
    • If the system prompts you to insert Windows XP installation CD-ROM, do it.

For more help help on this, just check the following MS KB describing "Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker
    (Sfc.exe)" http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310747

Hello Frragnatnt. Just searching this term in Google "appmgmts.dll entry point not found" and follow the solutions. Apart from this i guess the problem may also be due to corrupted registry. So you should download some registry cleaner software and fix the same. The one i can suggest you is Registry Wizard, you can donwload the same from here. This will will help you scan and fix your registry problems.

    RE: Application management

You may have this file missing or damaged on your computer one of these methods should cure the issue. First read these links to know about the Application management service: Client-side extensions. Apart from this, also check the following the MS KB describing: Explanation of Regsvr32 Usage and Error Messages.

Try to locate the file here:
    c:\windows\system32\appmgmts.dll
You can copy this file from another machine has the same operating system or from a Back Up if you have one.

Open a Run command and try first to unregister the file/DLL
    regsvr32 /u appmgmts.dll

Then on the Run command again try to re-register these files:
    regsvr32 /i appmgmts.dll
    regsvr32 appmgr.dll

Also be sure this service is running in the services control panel:
    Run >> services.msc
Make sure the service is started: Application Management Service

You can Run the system file checker to repair any corrupted file in thesystem core:
    sfc /scannow
You may need your XP Cd handy.
