Adobe reader internal error 2711

I am receiving adobe internal error 2711 patch extras when I try to uninstall
or reinstall adobe reader 7 on winxp

And what does Adobe tech support have to say?

Adobe - TechNote : Error 2711"specified Feature name PatchExtras not found..." when you install Acrobat 7.0.5, 7.0.7, or 7.0.8 update (on Windows):
