Windows Installer Error - Scan 1706

Everytime when I start my computer then I am getting Windows Installer popup. I am getting the box with Windows Installer appearing to be running and then I will get a Windows Configuring Scan notice. After that a window appears saying that "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk." When I cancel all this things then I get error 1706. Can anyone please help.

Have you got HP printers with you? When I searched for the error message then I found that you should contact the printer vendor because they might be having a solution for this error related to the printer. You can also try to remove and reinstall the printer drivers and see if that works for you.

Actually, the error occured when I updated through windows update and it were actually for the HP printer that I have. Thanks for the information, I will try out reinstalling.

Even I was facing this same issue and thanks to this post, I have finally solved this problem. I reinstalled the drivers for the HP 6310 after removing it and then it worked for me.
