    Sidebyside errors

    I am getting too many Sidebyside error messages in the Event Viewer. It is occuring at every startup or restart. Check the below for information:

    For ID #32
    Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

    For ID#59
    Generate Activation Context failed for C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.MFC_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_dec6ddd2\MFC80U.DLL. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully..

    I checked the microsoft links but they are not helpful. I am running Windows XP SP2, can anyone please help.

    This issue was fixed by reinstalling the 2008 Visual C++ redistributable from Microsoft (9.0 version). For more information, check the link here.

    I was able to fix this problem. It looks to have been a software conflict between the logitech setpoing software that was installed for sometime and new installation of a Logitech Quickcam. After reinstalling the Setpoint software again, the Sidebyside error got fixed.
