| Screen Inverted now the problem has happened again and I can't find my original post. My problem is my computer screen has inverted. Right now as I type this, I have to stand my monitor on its right hand side to see the words on the screen properly. I forgot how to get it back to normal. I went into the control panel and was looking around but I just can't seem to remember how to do it. I remember the solution was very simple...and if anyone knows, I'd be grateful. |

Works for NVidia Cards, may work for others. Right click the Desktop | Properties | Settings tab | Advanced button | Video Card tab | NVRotate | Select Landscape (0 degree rotation) | Click Apply | Click OK | Click OK |

Hi Wes, Thanks but that didn't do it. I remember the solution did have to do with "rotating" back to normal. But I don't remember how to get back to that function. If anyone does, please let me know. As far as your commands, I was able to right click the desktop, click properties, than settings, then advanced, but then there was no video card tab. After I clicked advanced what I saw was: ""Adapter, Color Management, Monitor, General, TroubleShoot" I figured Monitor was the logical one but when I clicked over there I didn't see any function whereby I coudl rotate the monitor. Anyone else help please? I know there is a solution to this problem someone gave it to me before but I just can't find the post!!! |

| Solution I found
I dont know if this will solve everyone's problem, but I accidentally did this while at work today, and this is how I solved the problem. We use Dells with integrated video acceleration: ctrl + alt + uparrow Actually, on this computer, you can rotate the screen presentation every way you want using ctrl + alt + [arrow key]. If you push down, the screen literally goes upside down. It also inverts the mouse function, so be ready for that. Hope this helps someone! |

This is support for people who have screens which can be rotated physically. I'm thinking of getting one. Presumably, you press ctrl+alt+{whichever arrow key corresponds to where you want the top of the display to be} then rotate the screen. Some screens have sensors, which do this automatically (in conjunction with drivers that know about it). I've always been tempted to see if anything happens when I do this. but I'm too scared that it will get stuck that way (if the wind stops blowing, for example) and I'll spend the rest of my career standing on my head. :-) |

This does work on other XP machines. If it doesn't work, the problem may be that the number lock key needs to be toggled. Do the reverse the original mistake, which is CRL+ALT+ up arrow THIS REALLY WORKS! THIS REALLY WORKS! I have a Dell Studio with integrated video card and this fixed it in 2 seconds. Do this first, it's so easy! |

Yay! I knew it had to be some simple combination of keys pushed... because my cat rolled over onto the keyboard and inverted it in the first place! Thanks! |

| Re: Screen Inverted
I'm a dog person, but if one of my dogs turned my display upside down by rolling on my keyboard then the first thing I'd try is rolling them over the keyboard in the opposite direction. It almost certainly wouldn't fix the problem (and might make it worse) but at least it would put the dog off doing it again! :-) |
