Windows Movie Maker to iMovie on Mac

I am a Windows XP user since long time. I have created few movies using Windows Movie Maker. Now recently my brother bought a new desktop running on Mac OS. It also has an Video editing tool called iMovie. Now I want to import the movies I created using WMM to iMovie but it is not accepting the same.

So I wanted to know if there is any built-in option in Movie Maker to save files in format which can be edited in iMovie? Or can I convert these files and import in iMovie, if yes, which file format do I need to convert the files?

    All suggestions appreciated.

Re: Windows Movie Maker to iMovie on Mac

Windows Movie Maker usually saves allfile by default in WMV format which is not compatible with iMovie. Neither there is anu option to save in iMovie format. You will need to convert them first using any Video Converter tool. Simply copy it to a DV tape on a digital camcorder and then import it into iMovie. Hope it helps.
