    Windows Media Player 11 (.mkv)

I’m new to Windows Media Player. My system is Windows XP SP3 with WMP v11. I got some videos in .MKV filr format which is not recognized by media player. When I try playing any of them, neither Audio nor Video can be seen. I checked all of its menu there is no option to make changes which can make these files work also I don’t know if it requires any codec.

Is there any way we can play MKV videos in Windows Media Player 11? Please let me know soon.

Windows Media player has always been problem with file formats such as AVI, FLV or MKV. If you want to stick with WMP itself than download K-Lite codec from web and install. It should probably play MKV files then.

And if you want a media player which can play these files formats comfortably then download VLC Media Player search Matroska Media Container on Google.
