How to rotate desktop by 90 degrees ?

I don't know how it but since an hour ago my desktop is rotate by 90 degrees. The Taskbar is on the right border
and I have to turn my head vertically to read all menus and text lines.

The problem is: I don't know how I did this. I assume it was a speical key combination I pressed.
But which ?

How do I rotate it back?

David

Depends on your video card...
Usually you can go into the advanced properties of your video card driver
and find a "rotate" section.

It's a feature of your video card. Use Ctrl-Alt-Up Arrow.

That's not the only shortcut, mine is Ctrl-Shift-R and is a
toggle. Ctrl-Alt-Up does not work for me.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I guess different video differ in this
respect and I hadn't realized it.

Right-click on Desktop | Graphics Options | Rotate | Normal

You may need to turn the mouse through 90 deg to use it instinctively.

Not a key combo--it's a display properties setting. Look for an icon for your
video card in the lower right corner Notification Area. Right click on it to
adjust. If you don't have the icon, go to Display Properties, Settings,
Advanced, Rotation.

Re: How to rotate desktop by 90 degrees ?

CTRL-ALT-Arrowkeys

CTRL-ALT-UpArrow will restore normal desktop

CTRL-ALT-LeftArrow or CTRL-ALT-RightArrow will rotate by 90/270
CTRL-ALT-DownArrow will rotate 180

Note: These are hotkeys for some Intel graphics cards...

Or try control-alt and one of the arrow keys at the same time.

I might mention that, altho' nothing I have said is incorrect,
it is possible that the Pivot software that came with my
rotatable ViewSonic monitor has disabled Ctrl-Alt-Up. I never
knew about the latter until this topic was discussed a while
ago. I don't use my monitor in the rotated position very often
but it can be useful especially to see whole documents at a
decent font size.
