| Application n Hang I downloaded and installed 6 security updates. Now I cannot expand (+) folders in Windows Explorer and cannot "Save as" to a specific folder in Windows Office applications (Word, Excel) because I cannot expand folder to show subfolders. Everything saves to "My Documents." Then "My Documents" hangs up and I have to ctrl-alt-del to close. Some error messages are "Hanging application WINWORD.EXE, version 11.06568.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000" and "Fault bucket 216392537". Help! -- auwe |

| RE: Application Hang
I'm having the same problem here. it's not just confined to word and excel, but to all programmes. And it affects all file select dialog boxes, I first encountered it through the browse for a picture to insert from file. No doubt there are a lot of other people suffering this too "auwe" wrote: > > I downloaded and installed 6 security updates. Go To Add/Remove Programs, click "Show Updates" at top of window then scroll down to KB908531 and remove it. Now reboot your pc. It seems this update has created many problems. Post you results in this thread for others to see. I spent £34 with Dell yesterday (and 4 hours on the phone) and they didn't have a clue. They are ringing me back on Monday to reinstall my system. I am just going to try the fix and if it works I can't wait for them to phone. -- david "auwe" wrote: > > It works! Thank you! | Re: Application n Hang My computer keeps wanting to reinstall KB908531 when I boot. I read in another forum: uninstall HP Share to Web, then reinstall KB908531; will result in no conflict. I did that and it seems to work! No noticable conflicts so far. Happy Easter everyone!
