The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006)

I started facing a huge problem on my XP laptop since past week. Whenever I try to run PhotoShop or Last.fm, I use to get an error message saying:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application".

The error appears only with these two programs, rest everything is working fine. I thought re-installing the program will fix the problem but no success. Is there anyone here who can provide me a fix to get rid of this error?

    Thank you.

Hey guys, i guess i can help out. Even i had the same problem and i just used the System Restore to a date when my application worked correctly. I never did find the real problem, but the applicatoin still works correctly now. If this does not solve your problem you can easily undo the restore point.
