I am using a Dell XPS which is running on Windows XP. When the pc boots then am getting an error message that states "CTMBHA.dll initialization routine failed." I cannot figure out what kind of file is causing this issue? Any ideas? Thanks.

I dont think that CTMBHA.dll is an XP file. Check the below registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run:
[MBMon] Rundll32 CTMBHA.DLL,MBMon
And then try to find the CTMBHA.dll on your machine.
Check the below article on "Search For Hidden Or System Files In Windows XP"

Thanks for the reply, I found the below thing:
C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy\Program\win2k_xp
Can anyone tell me what is Creative\SBAudigy?
The SBAudigy is a sound card and similar kind of software from Creative. Also Creative is the manufacturer. Have you tried to right click on CTMBHA.dll and then selected properties and checked at everything? I was able to find the below folders with some web searches:
C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy\Program
After the win2k_xp is added I find nothing
C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy\Program\win2k_xp
I searched @ http://us.creative.com/support/ for CTMBHA.dll.
You can try to call or email the Creative support and ask them about what this CTMBHA.dll file is.
I had this error message occur this morning. I searched google and found this thread (very helpful, thank you), when I found out it was a soundblaster file, I knew what to do. I just went into msconfig last night, then the services tab, hid all microsoft programs and shut off everything else. Then , this morning I got the error message. I just went back into msconfig, services and put a check in the box next to the 2 programs that are soundblasters. No more error message. thanks!
It has something to do with your Creative labs sound card drivers. The issue is on mine PC right now. It started right after I replaced a defective hard drive. I cloned my laptop before using Acronis True Image Home 9 and replaced the drive and put the cloned image back on the new drive. The next time I booted, I got the same message.
Creative Labs SB Audigy ADVANCED MB - it needs to be rereistered with Creative labs. You purchased a Dell laptop that came with an upgrade sound software package. You might not even use it, but its there.
I'll repost when i fix mine.
Creative Filter AudioControlMB Module - right click the file properties
exisits in two locations on my PC
C:\Windows\System32\CTMBHA.DLL (active copy thats not registering)
and the original
C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy\Program\Win2k_xp\ctmbha.dll
I tried start run - - regsrv32 ctmbha.dll and got the same message - LoadLibrary failed initialization routine failed
start run msconfig
start up tab
uncheck Rundll32 CTMBHA.DLL - apply ok and restart it should not load again.
or regedit and remove the key from the LM\SOFTWARE\MS\WIN\CurrentVersion\Run
or both
