1 way to fix a "Bad Pool Header" or Hard Drives HD

I don’t know what went wrong with my system. It started behaving weird. I tried to troubleshoot the problem going to Safe Mode, but it wont allow me to enter Safe Mode, wont allow me to format the hard drive and re-install windows, not even connecting the HDD on any other computer for backup. Finally I bootable floppy disk from windows millenium, went into DOS mode, and used FDISK. Using this simply deleted the C partition from my HDD. Later I created a new partition using fdisk. But Fdisk asks me to format the partition again.

Now when I try to format the partition, it gives me an error saying "unknown file system". I just re-booted, checked again with FDISK, and few moments later i dont know how the partion became a fat32. Than I formated and re-installed my system. So this is how I fixed the "Bad Pool Header" problem. If anyone you guys are facing such problem, I hope this steps will surely help you out.

I had the same problem and used the solution.


I was so relieved that this worked and it was really easy to do.

"Here is the fix and it works brilliantly:

1. Go to windows Device Manager
2. Click "view" and select "show hidden devices"
3. Scroll down to "storage volumes"
4. Click on the plus to expand.
5. Click on each one listed and right click and uninstall. (you will get a message on some staying to reboot before it takes effect. Select no until you do them all.)
6. Reboot.
7. Wait till windows automatically reinstalls devices. Will prompt to reboot again.
8 Reboot.
Now it should work."

From what I could find out it is either a RAM memory problem or a Driver problem. Do you get an error No. with the message?
