DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll failed. return code was: 0x80004005

This is Windows XP Home edition desktop I’m using since past 1.5 years. I use to get some problems with the same periodically but not seems like something major one has occurred. I’m trying to install some applications but my system is not allowing me to do the same. No matter it is any software or antivirus program, I keep getting an error message saying:

“DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll failed. return code was: 0x80004005”

Any idea what is it all about and how can I get rid of the same?

Hello Galiher. It seems like the problem is with some system files. Hence you should try out running system file checker to find and repair the problems (if any). Here is MS article which will help you more for the same:

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7.

To me it seems like it has something to do with JScript.dll's dependencies.

    Any ideas?
