    no mixer devices available.

Yesterday I formatted my hard drive and did a fresh installation of Windows XP. Everything is working well except the sound. There is no sound working on this pc. When I checked the Volume Controls, it says I don’t have any Mixer Devices. I also checked settings under Control Panel but don’t know what is wrong.

Somebody please tell me what troubleshooting I need to do? Thanks for all your helps.

Hello Saphire. Just follow these steps and see if it fixes the problem:

    • Go to Start > Run
    • Type DEVMGMT.MSC.
    • Select the Sound device, click Action menu, and click Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer and wait for few minutes, Let Windows find the device and install its drivers again automatically.

Now check if your sound is working.
