    Active Mixer Device

I want some help to locate active mixture drivers on my pc. I am not able to find anything. I am trying re-install windows xp but still it looks there is a problem with the same. I had formatted my system and everything is installed one. I did a mistake. I would have taken the backup of the entire stuff. I am not having anything with me. After installation the lan is working, video driver is proper but sound is not working.

Give me the model of your motherboard. On that basis I will be able to give you the driver download link. You can find the motherboard model by downloading a tiny application called as cpuz. Just install the same in your pc. Go in the mainboard section and there you will find the motherboard. Search on Google you will get the driver download.

Try running automatic updates a number of time and you will be able to get the sound driver. If not then the manual process remains of finding the audio chip on your board. Most commonly there is a realtek chip which is widely used. It will not be better to download drivers on the basis of assumption. Just open your system case and search for the audio chip.
