monitor says "self test check your pc and signal cable"
I haven't turned on my pc in atleast a year and I tried to turn it on it keeps saying " self test check your pc and signal cable- monitor is working." I've tried using different cords, re-starting, un plugging and re plugging, and trying to tighten the screws. It just won't stop with the self test. I'd like to fix this as quickly as possible, it has my sims 3 games on it. Haha.
Re: monitor says "self test check your pc and signal cable"
This is known issue and can be resolved very easily by yourself. you just need to have some hardware knowledge for this. You have already told that you have checked the monitor cable and connection. So it seems to me like the issue with VGA adapter or connector. The integrated graphic chips is also a reason. The best way to check it by using a graphics card and try it out. If nothing helped you to resolve this, then CMOS batter might be dead. you need to power up that first. I have found another thread here with same issue. Go through it for further information.
