    Chkdsk cannot lock current drive

I use XP Media Center SP3. I have no problem running disk defragmentation until now. I use AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition Version 9.0.733.

The error message I got is 'Disk defragmentor has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled tor run on the vol: Local (C:). Please run chkdsk /f

When I ran chkdsk /f, it gave me the following message:
    Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the vol is in use by another process. Would you like to shceudle the vol to be checked the next time the system restarts.

I answered yes and restart the system, but chkdsk did not run. I think I have this problem for quite a while, however, I have no problem running defragmentation until now. I tried to run the command 'unlock', but it did not exist in my computer.

    Please help. Thanks.

Check times your hard disk for errors. The disk check could not be performed because the disk check access to some Windows files on the disk have exclusive needs to be. Insert the bootable cd of windows and then run the below command in the cmd. Start>> Run sfc / scannow. Use the NTFS file system, which in Windows NT, 2000 and XP is mostly the case of this error.
