Sounds like a 3rd party program is taking over when it loads on start up. Try this. restart in safe mode. Then, Clcik start, run, type in msconfig. Go to the start up tab & uncheck any 3rd party programs in the list. (like anti spyware etc) or any programs that you don't recognize. Then resart normally. If that doesn't work, go back into safe mode & run anti-virus or anti spyware program. It's worth a shot. Lou.

First of all you have a lot of configurations that I am not familiar with. I don't notice any anti virus or anti spyware programs on the list. Do you have any? You can recheck any programs that you uncheck from the list. I would start unchecking the one that says "dumprep O-K" & the one at the bottom with all the numbers. When the computer restarts after unchecking some of them you will get a pop up saying selective start up has be selected. Just continue in that mode. Don't restart in normal mode. You can also access msconfig from normal startup mode. You don't have to go to safe mode to do it. The reason going to safe mode is because blue screen is taking over in normal mode. If this doesn work try unchecking others you don't recognize or run your anti virus program in safe mode. When you get blue screen can you view anything from the start menu? Remember, this is just a suggestion to fix it. You could have a corrupted file in the registry. There are programs that claim they can fix it but no guarentees they are ligitimate programs. Good Luck.

If you don't have any anit virus programs "spy Sweeper Essencials" is a very good one. I uninstalled Symantic & have been using spy sweeper essencials & it has caught a lot of programs that tried to install & gotten rid of malware programs called "Killit" that I accidentally downloaded. That program caused my desktop to go blank. I ran it in safe mode & it found 3 programs causing the problem. After that I was back to normal.

You are replying to an (almost 3-year) old thread about connecting a 360 and
I have a Vista MC computer, but you changed the subject to "Group Policy". Are you
have trouble with the former or the latter.

It would be best to start a fresh topic with your specific problem described
in detail, rather than hijacking this old one that may or may not have
anything to do with your problems. Please include if this ever worked , if
it did, what was changed/updated, etc.

Here's one web site to download it.

As a last resort you may have to reinstall windows if you can't get it fixed, but by doing this it will completely wipe out everything. It restores your computer back to the day you bought it. You have to reinstall all your devices & programs just like you did the day you brought it home from the store. If your files are backed up on a cd ,dvd or flach drive you can reinstall them. If not try to save them to a flach drive before it goes to blue screen or in safe mode, then run "system recovery". I know your getting frustrated but there is not much more I can help you with without being there.
