MSN log in problem

This is Windows XP. I'm using Live Messenger version about 2 months old. I'm trying to upgrade it to the latest version but it seems like i I cant. It gives me error code : 0x80280006.

Please help.

Hi, even I had exactly the same problem earlier with my MSN. Somebody suggested me to first completely uninstall MSN from system by going to Add and Remove components. Restart the PC. Download latest MSN Messenger from Microsoft and then install.

It worked for me. So, hope you know what you have to do.
