Can't run 16-bit Windows Program

If I am trying to run the setup.exe from the temp folder on Windows XP SP3 then it will give some message that states "Can't run 16-bit program". It will actually run well from XP XP2 machine or if I run from shared drive with C drive of XP SP3 computer. Can anyone tell me what causes the problem and how to get it solved? Thanks.

Re: Can't run 16-bit Windows Program

Fo you have a 32bit or 64bit versions of Windows XP? If you have 64-bit, then check the below article:

If you have 32-bit and when you are trying to install Windows 9x era programs on an NT-based version of Windows, read:

Re: Can't run 16-bit Windows Program

Thanks for responding, I have a 32 bit Windows XP version. I checked out the article and if the files have to be repaired then it should give a problem when I ran from other folders too. It looks to me that the space in the path of a setup file is causing the issue.

It is not just with spaces issue but that also has folder names exceeding the 8.3 file naming scheme. Can you try to create a C:\Temp folder and run the installer from there? Since, as mentioned, the installer might be using module arithmetic and you might have differing amounts of free disk space.
