| I log on to my computer, and it immediately logs me off :( Help.
Hello there, I accidently posted this question in another thread, so I'm just posting it alone. Everytime I log on to my computer, it takes me to a "Choose User" screen. I try to log into my user, and it says "logging in" then immediately after it "logs out". How can I fix this? Will I lose my files? Is there a way to keep my files from being removed? (just to give a little background, before the log on issues) My computer had a ton a viruses. My internet stopped working, my tool bars changed etc. I purchased a anit-virus cd and my computer blocked it from dowloading. The company then told me to dowload malware bytes, to see if that would remove it and allow me to download the anti-virus program. I downloaded malwarebytes from a different "clean" computer on to my flash drive. I then downloaded it onto my virus infested computer. After it located the trojans it removed them, and I ran my anti virus program. It prompted me to restart my computer, once it did, thats when my log on issues began. Thanks for your time, Sorry so long :) <3 Tinysparkle |

The only way to clean a compromised system is to flatten and rebuild. Cleaning a Compromised System http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc512587.aspx Clean Install Windows XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html Tinysparkle wrote: > Hello there, > I accidently posted this question in another thread, so I'm just posting it > alone. > > Everytime I log on to my computer, it takes me to a "Choose User" screen. Thanks for the information. Once I flatten and rebuild I assume I'll lose everything I had, correct? Is there a way to save my programs (pictures, music, and other things as well) before I restore my computer completely? If so, how? My computer will not allow me to start my computer in safe mode. Thanks again, Tinysparkle "Leroy" wrote: > The only way to clean a compromised system is to flatten and rebuild. > > Cleaning a Compromised System > http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc512587.aspx > > Clean Install Windows XP > http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html > > > > Tinysparkle wrote: > > Hello there, > > I accidently posted this question in another thread, so I'm just posting it > > alone. > > > > Everytime I log on to my computer, it takes me to a "Choose User" screen. Download my new userinit fix from here http://www.ms-mvp.org/ this file works for SP2 and SP3 only. READ the enclosed instructions. If you have SP1 do not use this file. If you need any other version then email me using the link at the bottom of my webpage. Your issue is caused by a malware infestation. Once fixed you will need to use my Remove-it software, it will remove that malware from your system. Choose yes for all options when prompted. Download it here http://www.ms-mvp.org/ -- The Real Truth http://pcbutts1-therealtruth.blogspot.com/ *WARNING* Do NOT follow any advice given by the people listed below. They do NOT have the expertise or knowledge to fix your issue. Do not waste your time. David H Lipman, Malke, PA Bear, Beauregard T. Shagnasty, Leythos. And "Real Truth's" replies to those... Form your own opinion. I'd agree with others' advice - having had "a ton of viruses", you'll never be sure you're clean: backup data, delete partitions, reformat and reinstall Windows. |

I am having the same virus problem only I do not have my original windows xp disk to just clear everything on my pc and start over. I would like to keep my pics and files but is there anything I can do. I have brought antivirus software but its all in vain cause I can't log in at all to download anything. I have went into safe mode nothing is working is there a start up disk or a override disk that will allow me access in without having to log into windows? |
