I am running on Windows XP on Compaq laptop. I was playing battlefield game when my computer crashed and I started getting this error message. I also got another program error when playing Command and Conquer game but not a system crash. These games are working fine for sometime before error occurs? To rule out the heating issues, I have put a fan towards the video cards. I have added a nvidia card and also some extra ram from its original 512mb, so could this be causing the issue? Thanks.

Follow the below method to solve your issue:

1. First of all restart your computer by using a clean boot procedure
2. After that try to remove and Reinstall the Game
3. You can also adjust graphics hardware acceleration
4. Disable AGP Texturing in the DirectX Diagnostic tool
5. Temporarily disable the sound card in Windows
6. Lower sound acceleration
7. Download and install the most recent version of DirectX
8. Update your video driver
9. Update your sound driver
10. Scan your computer for viruses
11. Remove spyware
12. Install the latest VIA chipset drivers
13. Create a new user account in Windows XP
14. Change the compatibility setting

hi all
i have been facing this problem since 2 days in my laptop Dell Inspiron 6400.
The screeen automatically turns off and nothing works. the computer when restarted, showes " The system has been reovered frm a serious error" and t6he log file shows : Error code 100000ea, parameter1 86b938f0, parameter2 86e801f8, parameter3 f7a90cbc, parameter4 00000001.

this problem repeats every 10-15 min. i am verey frustrated. any help will be highly appreciated.

You will have to give more information about this issue. What exactly are you doing when the problem occurs? Does it happen with the computer sitting idle? Have you checked your power settings? Updated all your drivers? Applied all the Windows updates? Does the error say anything else? Sometimes Vista will say specifically what failed on your system. Are you running Vista? XP?

when this problem occure, there is no other way then restarting the computer.
it doesnot matter that i am working or keeping idle. it happens. power setting is on minimal power mangement. drivers and settings are updated.

after restarting it just says that u have recovered from a serious error.
i am running XP home edition on my notebook.
its around 2 and half years i have got this laptop.

Im Having The Same Problem. Sometimes I Could Keep The Computer Alive Just Moving The Whole Screen Panel Or Moving The Ac Adapter Plug Right On The Laptop.

I Always Send The Report, So I Got A Response From Windows And Dell And They Suggested Me To Use The Driver Reset Tool. They Say There Is A Problem With Some Driver. I Ran Driver Reset Tool But There Is Nothing To Change. Alse The Dell Diagnostic 32 Bits Doesnt Show Anything Wrong.

Sometimes The Laptop Works Good Sometines It Doesnt.
