| Outlook Express not downloading all emails from server
Hope someone can help with this, I'll cut and paste here what I've already asked elsewhere with no luck. thanks, Jerry Windows XP SP3 OE6 Recently had to reinstall my main PC, used laptop for three days to access emails. Fewer emails than usual so i looked at the web mail page where there were loads of emails that hadn't been downloaded. After starting up the main PC again, i am now getting this behaviour on it too. This morning I ran OE, it downloaded 88 emails, when I looked at the web page there were still 767 emails on it. (Obviously a lot are spam, I'm not that popular!) >> Any message rules? Two, but nothing to do with this. >> Spam program? Nope. >>What happens if you send a message to > yourself. Get it straight back, no problems. >>Any error messages? Nope. >> Is Send/Receive every X minutes checked? Was but isn't currently, makes no difference anyway. > Do you have Leave a copy of messages on the server checked, or are the > messages on the server /only/ messages you haven't received? No and yes. >IOW, how > much mail is on the server? (i.e. days, months?). I have gone to the webmail and deleted it all. Problem remains. |

Hi Jerry, Are you directly downloading your E-mails from the site, or are you downloading all the E-mails to a Localhost on your computer? -- thecreator "alfajerry" <alfajerry.3nlq7b@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:alfajerry.3nlq7b@DoNotSpam.com... > > Hope someone can help with this, I'll cut and paste here what I've > already asked elsewhere with no luck. > thanks, > Jerry > > Windows XP SP3 OE6 > Recently had to reinstall my main PC, used laptop for three days to > access > emails. > Fewer emails than usual so i looked at the web mail page where there > were > loads of emails that hadn't been downloaded. > After starting up the main PC again, i am now getting this behaviour on > it > too. > This morning I ran OE, it downloaded 88 emails, when I looked at the > web page there were still 767 emails on it. > (Obviously a lot are spam, I'm not that popular!) > > > > >>> Any message rules? > > Two, but nothing to do with this. > > >>> Spam program? > > Nope. > > >>>What happens if you send a message to >> yourself. > > Get it straight back, no problems. > > >>>Any error messages? > > Nope. > > >>> Is Send/Receive every X minutes checked? > > Was but isn't currently, makes no difference anyway. > > >> Do you have Leave a copy of messages on the server checked, or are > the >> messages on the server /only/ messages you haven't received? > > No and yes. > > >>IOW, how >> much mail is on the server? Hi Creator, Not sure I understand. I am using Outlook Express to get my emails from the Orange server onto my PC, but I can also go to their webmail page to see the emails (not ones which have been downloaded). Jerry |

Hi Jerry, Are you using an Anti-Virus E-mail Scanner that scans your E-mails before you download them? You might have a Virus in an E-mail that your Anti-Virus is blocking that E-mail and the rest behind that E-mail from downloading. Read the oldest e-mail, then either delete it from the Server or move it to another Web-Folder online and try downloading those E-mails again. Make sure that you don't leave a copy on the Server, after you download the E-mails. -- thecreator "alfajerry" <alfajerry.3nlyjc@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:alfajerry.3nlyjc@DoNotSpam.com... > > Hi Creator, > Not sure I understand. > I am using Outlook Express to get my emails from the Orange server onto > my PC, but I can also go to their webmail page to see the emails (not > ones which have been downloaded). > Jerry > > > -- > alfajerry > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > alfajerry's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/alfajerry.htm > View this thread: > Outlook Express not downloading all emails from server > > http://forums.techarena.in > |

Have AVG with email scanner turned off. Have deleted all emails from server several times. No difference. Deleted ALL emails earlier today, used OE tonight, downloaded 35 emails, looked at webpage, 396 emails remaining. Last edited by alfajerry : 15-02-2009 at 07:50 AM. |
