    error code 80004005

    hi,
    i'm facing a problem with my windows live messanger beta8.0
    it doesn't sign me in and error code is 80004005
    alough it signs for different email addresses
    would some body help me plzzzz

    It might be possible that some part of the Messenger client cache might be corrupted. So to fix the same issue, close down Messenger if its running and then click Start and then Run and then type the following: %userprofile%\contacts and click OK. If nothing seems to appear in the folder, then click the Tools menu, then Options, then View tab, click 'Show hidden files or folders' and then click OK. After you have seen the folders, right click the one that corresponds to your Passport and choose Delete. After that click Start and then Run and then type the below:
    %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

    Now try to remove the corresponding folder again in this folder and then restart Messenger and try signing again.

    Even I am having the same issue and by the way doesnt that delete all your contacts?

    They are normally a cache and then contacts are stored on the server itself.

    i need some help...... any time i paste that code i get an error message saying that it can not find the file 'c:/Documents' (or one of its components) im using windows 98 so i cant upgrade my messenger ether do u have any suggestions?
