| Scheduled Tasks: Notify me of missed tasks
I've set "Notify me of missed tasks" in "Scheduled tasks". Of course, none of my tasks have been missed ever since, so I'm left wondering what form the notification will take. Can anyone tell me what to look out for? I could construct a task that deliberately fails, but I enjoy the modicum of social interaction that I get here. :-) Oh yes, Happy New Year. -- Steve Swift http://www.swiftys.org.uk/swifty.html http://www.ringers.org.uk |

Anyone who sits at the computer can view the list of missed tasks." You might also look at: http://girtby.net/archives/2005/08/0...-and-breakage/ Which informs you: "Contrary to its name, the Notify Me of Missed Tasks option notifies you only of Task Scheduler's failure, not of individual missed tasks. Tasks that fail to run because of corrupt or missing executables don't kick off a notification." And other than knowing it will popup with a message if a task is missed - you might want to know other ways to check for failed/missed scheduled tasks: How to troubleshoot scheduled tasks in Windows XP and in Windows Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308558 Hope that clears things up for you... -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

I'm getting vague feelings that there's a flaw in my logic somewhere. Thanks. -- Steve Swift http://www.swiftys.org.uk/swifty.html http://www.ringers.org.uk |
