    Messenger 14.0.8050.1202 Stopped Working

I need some help with installation of Windows Live Messenger on my system. When I try to run the setup I am getting a error saying that Windows Live Communication platform has stopped working. I am here trying to install the beta edition but it does not looks to be working well. I am using Windows XP SP3. I went inside error logs. There I found the problem lies with ntdll.dll file. I tried to collect the information on the on web. Ample of people says to re-install wlm.

Just try to re-install windows live messenger back again and see whether you are getting the error or not. It happens sometime due to a damage setup file or corrupt dll file the issue appear. You can find the a proper setup on the web that will work more properly and will be more stable compare to what you are using today.

Try to install Windows Live Messenger in compatibility mode and then check back. There can be some kind of problem with the installation due to which you are getting problem. You have to go in program files and locate Windows live folder. In that look for contact file and remove the wldlog.dll file from the same. Then look for wlcomm file and then right click on the same. Choose Properties and click on compatibility. Just below the display settings put a checkmark on disable visual theme and then try back.

    Re: Messenger 14.0.8050.1202 Stopped Working

I'm also unable to login to Windows Live Messenger. I tried reinstalling multiple times, tried the Regedit fix, renaming and deleting the MSN Messenger folder, scanned my ports (all hidden), scanned for viruses (none found), UPnP enabled on D-Link router and I'm using the default Windows XP theme but nothing works. When I check the Event Viewer, this is what it shows when Windows Live Messenger crashes the first time I try logging in after launching it: "Faulting application wlcomm.exe, version 14.0.8064.206, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x000113a0."

Then it will just trying logging in and stops. Though, it is able to recognize an incorrect password so there's a definite connection to the servers.

    Any suggestions

    Windows XP SP3

    Re: Messenger 14.0.8050.1202 Stopped Working

Just wanted to add that I've tried logging in to Web Messenger and then try Windows Live Messenger 9 and Web Messenger does detect me trying to log in as it disconnects me from Web Messenger, saying that I've been logging out from another location. I also noticed that when I run the connection troubleshooter, it gets stuck on Key Ports and pretty much freezes there. I tried port forwarding port 88, 443 and 1863 on TCP and UDP but no luck.... so I'm just fresh out of ideas... HELP!!!!!
