| Remove an entry in the Start/Programs listing?
How does one remove an entry in Start>All Programs with deleting the program itself? Thanks, Mary |

Rightclick your start button, and click Explore. The folders there only contain shortcuts that appear on the start/all programs menu. Delete any you don't want. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Use the "Ratings" feature. It helps the new users. Mark L. The actual .exe file not a shortcut to it. Granted shortcuts are the standard, but not the rule as Mark states. If you want to get rid of a true .EXE file in the start menu, you have to move it someplace else if you don't want to remove the .EXE file. |

Thanks to responders for the input. Still somewhat confused - the entry in the Start>All Programs that I wish to move or remove from the list does not appear when I rt. click Start and open Explore - many other programs are listed - why not all? Mary |

C:\documents and settings\bob\start menu and C:\documents and settings\all users\start menu They combine on the screen as one menu. When you right click the start menu you should see explore and explore all users. You'll have to check both. But you won't see them all as one as you do on the menu. |

What you see in Start | All Programs are normally just shortcuts. Removing them does not delete the program they refer to. To remove the entry, right-click on it and choose Delete. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

It's free and most likely available wherever you get your 3rd party stuff now. If you don't have a place, here's one of many that carry it and is a "safe" site to visit: http://superwin.com/ffreewar.htm It's listed about mid-page for download. It'll correct almost any problem you have with the add/remove list too. Cheers, |
