Display Driver

I updated my display driver and now I get an error that reads.... Your
display driver has changed, the auto location feature needs to reinstall the
rotation driver. If this message reappears, please update your display
drivers. Please reinstall now....... Even after I update the driver I still
get this message and the computer reboots back to this point again with the
same message. XP Home Ed, HP Pavilion desktop. Thanks for any help!

Re: Display Driver

Where did you get the driver update from?
If you used Microsoft's driver from Windows Update
then that could be the cause.

Download and install the latest driver from HP or
the Video Card manufacture's web site.

Re: Display Driver

I still get the message when I reinstall the original driver that came with
the computer, or the new driver from Navida.

Re: Display Driver

If you can boot to Safe Mode and then open the Control Panel
see if there is an option to disable the Video Card's auto locate feature.

You may also want to check "msconfig" for any display adapter features.

Re: Display Driver

Now I have the display driver that I want, and every thing works good, but
on every boot up I get the error.......Your display driver has changed, the
auto location feature needs to reinstall the rotation driver. If this
message reappears, please update your display
drivers. I could not find anything in msconfig that would stop this, and I
have updated to the latest drivers. Any more help would be appreciated.

Re: Display Driver

Check this location: C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch
Buttons\MCsvActn.dll
If you find this file then rename this file to MCsvActn.old. This works for
a Tablet PC but may not
on your Pavilion.

Reboot and see if the problem disappears.
