Possibly. Possibly not. With the level of detail that you have provided,
my money is on the latter.

Although you may believe that no more needs to be written, those who
read your post won't know what you have done prior to your posting.

If the rolls were reversed, what could you do?

Now, please don't be concerned about replying with too much information.

Re: no bluetooth device in the control panel

There is no bluetooth device in the control panels on any of my systems
either, and it's almost certainly because those systems don't have bluetooth
    hardware or drivers.

If yours has hardware, install the drivers. If there's no hardware, you'll
need it before you can use.

Please give details of what type of PC (laptop) and options your
computer has. Most PCs do not come with Bluetooth installed unless
the manufacturer decides to include it.

The message you responded to is over 5 monthsd old and you responded on a
forum that is being synchronized with the actual source - a newsgroup. So
what many people will see is only your response - and even though your
response includes a link to the forum in question - even to the very
post/conversation - many will never get that far. I think you would be far
better off using the actual newsgroups instead of this forum - or even
    starting your own posting.

    Google groups archive:

As for your actual problem - what is the make/model of your laptop (or
    desktop)?
Was the bluetooth hardware included originally or did you later add it?

If included - do you have all the software from the manufacturer (not just
the driver) and is it the latest version?
If you have all the softweare (not just the driver) and it is the latest
version - what does the manufacturer say?

Essentially the same question(s) if you installed the bluetooth hardware
    yourself... different manufacturer. ;-)

Re: no bluetooth device in the control panel

my understanding is that the dongle that came with the keyboard is
what is needed. it is some kind of blue tooth emulator my desk top has
a new amd mother board on it this is form the keyboard review

Adding Bluetooth to your PC is as simple as inserting the bundled USB
transceiver dongle into a vacant port, but unlike with RF wireless
devices, pairing the keyboard and mouse with your system calls for a
little more effort. You'll need to navigate the multistep setup
software and maintain your calm if it takes a couple of tries to
recognize all of the devices. And before you get started, you'll need
to download Windows XP with Service Pack 2 if you haven't already; SP2
is required for this keyboard and mouse set.

i have the service pac three on my computer i am wondering if i should
    go back to two

yes i have the software my problem is with windows i believe not with
the keyboard or its software i tried it on another computer no problem
in fact just tried it on three computers thanks for your help
