SP3 Disables Wi-Fi connection.
I have recently got Service Pack 3 installed on my Windows XP through Windows Updates. Well there was no error during the installation and I?m happy too with this new service pack. But there is a problem. It has disabled my WiFi on the system. Whenever I run ipconfig command its result shows "Media Disconnected."
There is no problem with the drivers because I have already tried re-installing card drivers but no help. Even repairing the operating system wont helps. What can I do to fix it? Should I uninstall SP3?
Re: SP3 Disables Wi-Fi connection.
Let me tell you that XP Service Pack 3 wont support 802.1X wired network by default. There are some settings and tweak which you need to go through for connecting the same. You can get those steps in the following Microsoft KB: You cannot connect to an 802.1X wired network after you upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 3.
There is one more article which I will suggest you to go through, it is Changes to the 802.1X-based wired network connection settings in Windows XP Service Pack 3
