help - print spooler service not running - but it is

I recently bought a new Printer and installed it on my Windows XP. Whenever I try printing a page it says “print spooler service not running” but the printer in Control panel says “Ready”. When I went to service console by running ‘services.msc’ in command prompt I found print spooler service is on and running.

As troubleshooting I removed and installed printer again, I uninstalled and installed its Drivers again, but no success. I even tried running “sfc / scannow” but that too dint helped me in anyway.

Do anyone of you have came through this problem ever? Please let me know how can I fix the problem? Thank you.

What is your HP make and model number? You must always provide complete details to helps us help you better. Until you reply with the make/model, just open up command prompt and type ‘net start spooler’, press Enter. Go back and look in the Control Panel, under Printers & Faxes. Whats the status?
